TRIM SENDER – REC34801-93J03 enables the stern drive unit to be raised or lowered for effective operation in drive circumstances. A set of holes in the gimbal ring served as the mechanical tilt system for early stern drive engines. An adjustment stud placed through the hole secured the device. Once it is adjusted to the desired angle it then glides up and down with the engine’s motion thanks to a spring-loaded “finger.” When trimming or tilting the motor upward, the motor spins the finger while applying pressure.
