Numerous sails, coverings, ditty bags, straps, and other fabric accessories with grommets—metal rings that shield material holes and whatever cordage passes through them—are frequently needed for tiny boats. Spur grommets can be inserted into sailcloth, canvas, leather, webbing, and many other materials and placed under loads that would destroy conventional grommets. They come in two pieces: the washer and the grommet itself, which has a barrel that is well-inserted through the fabric. Spur grommets are composed of thicker metal than conventional ones, and the barrel is longer. When the grommets are well-placed, the washers’ tiny triangular teeth penetrate the material, and the grommet’s rolling rim catches the washer spur tips as they bend outward. Key Features:
